A fire extinguisher refill recharge is part of a regular maintenance procedure. Fire extinguishers need to be refilled and frequency as per BS guide lines. But they also need to be refilled after they are used, even if there is remaining extinguishing agent in them. Extinguishers are refilled with a pressurized Nitrogen (N2) and the chosen extinguishing agent. The fastest way of refilling fire extinguishers is by scheduling the process with a licensed professional. Records are kept with all refill dates. During the refilling process following services will be included,
- Visible seal replacement
- Valve servicing/polishing
- Checking “O – Ring” condition
- Pasting classification sticker
- Replacement of damage parts (valves/hones/washers, pressure gauges etc.) defective items and extinguisher will returned to the relevant plant.
- Painting if required or on request. (chipping/grinding, primer coating, spray painting)
- Hydrostatic test if required or on request. (Recommended to conduct hydrostatic test as per regulations)
